Mood Board: Finding inspiration for the Coastal Collection

jfhfI take photos, silly photos, holiday snaps, shots of dirt and cracked walls, landscapes, portraits and sometimes professional ones too ;)  All the photos I take are great inspiration and feature heavily in all aspects of my work from evoking new colour schemes, sparking fresh ideas or making textures and overlays….what would I do with out them :D

The latest collection of fabrics came from a series of photo’s I took whilst I was home for a quick holiday.  It’s a place where I grew up, in amongst the dunes and grasses, trying to catch the tide and skip the waves.  I used it as a starting point for the Coastal Colour scheme…selecting the different tones and hues to create a natural beachy feel.

I decided on a fabric texture pack combining natural linen, fine cotton, flax and canvas textures with the inspired coastal colours.   My thinking was to be natural, something that could be draped over a table for a picnic by the sea or hung at the window of a small beach cottage.   I hope you like them and keep an eye out for more texture packs and a few extra goodies to be added to the coastal collection :)
