I ? textures
Starting the week with a bit of decorating, I wanted to share a little corner of our home, something warm and cheerful, to help melt away the day!
NOTE: Details of all the items and textures used in the room is given at the end of the post.
To begin with I placed the same shabby chic texture (id shabby window white) on a couple of boxes, swung into edit mode, select texture and then clicked on the side of the prim that I wanted to adjust, in this case the window and surrounding frames, tweaking until they fitted the space.
Rotating, offseting and resizing a texture is fun and can often lead to unexpected results take the lampshade for instance, I used the same shabby chic texture as on the window and frames, only stretched…..and I think it turned a plain old cylinder prim very quickly and easily into a decent lampshade.
I love to mix different patterns, colors and textures and I am often buried somewhere in a pile of pillows and fabric textures and there I found my owl cushion. So cute!
To give the room some energy and colour the other three cushions, sofa and two walls were textured with a selection from our newest pack I ? Valentines, the original inspiration behind the room.
I also collect items randomly and am not known for my neat and tidy inventory so discovering the little orange plant was a pleasure. It a sweet freebie made by Patti Peregrine.
The pink flower pot holder, fabric filled basket and wicker basket with lid are a couple of old sculpts I made and literally just threw on a few basket weave textures on and hey presto!
